There is nothing like the feeling of freshly styled brows! After every appointment, your brow stylist will advise you on your next booking. This varies from person to person and changes according to lifestyle and hair growth. Usually, we see clients re-book between 4 – 6 weeks for HD brows.

HD Brows is a high-precision treatment, and we like to take our time to make sure your brows are preened to perfection. The gold standard HD Brow treatment with finishing takes 45 minutes.

1. Patch Testing – Your patch test must be carried out 48 hours before your initial HD Brow treatment. This can be collected from our Edinburgh clinic or posted out to you.
2. Consultation – Every HD Brow appointment begins with an in depth consultation, great to get to know you and your brows!
3. Tinting – a bespoke colour mix is made especially for you.
4. Waxing – mapping is used to ensure your shape is perfect before waxing.
5. Threading – Our technique insures even the tiny hairs are removed leaving your brows shaped to perfection and blended beautifully.
6. Finishing – Once you are happy with the overall look of your brows we add make up and even provide industry secret make up tips!
7. Aftercare – We take care to make sure your looking after your brows between appointments. We will send you homecare and aftercare advice via email as well as advice you during the treatment.

HD Brows is not just a treatment, it’s an experience. Your brow journey begins with an in-depth consultation. As well as asking about colour & style, we are assessing the movement of your brows and taking your personal style and bone structure into account.

The next stage is creating a bespoke colour mix and mapping especially for you. Our tint picks up small brow hairs which can be incorporated into your final shape adding definition and shape. Our mapping technique is great for creating symmetry and balance.

Brows are then shaped with waxing, threading, and tweezing. Using these techniques, we can preen your brows into your desired shape. At this stage we may put together a plan for future appointments if a hair growth program may be required or a step by step re shape which requires further hair growth.

HD Brows are very different to HD Brow Microblading. Microbladng is a form of cosmetic tattooing involving depositing pigment into the skin using a very fine needled hand held blade. HD brows uses tinting and hair removal to create the shape.

Although not official classed as semi-permanent, the brow tint is a permanent vegetable dye. The effects of HD Brows diminish as your natural hair grows over time, usually around 4 – 6 weeks.

HD Brows are so versatile that we can create an array of styles and shapes. That’s because they are designed especially for you.

Waxing, threading, and tweezing are not known to be overly relaxing; some pain may be experienced and this is on an individual basis. We use a soothing lavender oil immediately after hair removal which helps to calm the area.

The main component of your HD Brows are the tinting and shaping aspect of your treatment which will remain until your hair growth gradually replaces the effect. Any make up which is used to finish the brows should be removed with your usual make up removal routine.

HD Brow Sculpt is the “HD” version of brow lamination. Brow sculpt includes an entire HD brow treatment as well as the process of straightening or relaxing the hairs of the brow to create a fluffy brushed up brow, symmetry and balance or taming unruly hairs into a better shape.

The treatment is for anyone over the age of 16, however from age 16 – 18 we would require parental consent.

This varies greatly from person to person and depends a lot on your current and desired shape and then the hair growth that we would need to create the new shape.

We want you to be happy with your shape at all times and therefore sometimes we need to make small changes at each appointment so the shape can change gradually and naturally over time.

We can also recommend products which can increase hair growth and thus reducing the over all time it would take. Usually after 1 or 2 treatments we would have a good idea of the number of treatments it may take on your journey to beautiful brows.

No, only qualified therapists can carry out the HD Brows treatment. At Ora Privé Edinburgh, each HD Brow stylist has attended a 2 day workshop at the HD Brow Training Academy.

The HD Brow treatment is designed to create brows to suit any client, there are many factors we take into account to create the perfect shape, clients requests, hair growth, bone structure, face shape and symmetry, overall image, personality and age.

Your stylist will use a 7 stage programme during your HD Brow experience.

1. Preparation.
2. Personal consultation.
3. Custom blended colouring.
4. Designing the shape.
5. Creating the shape.
6. Tailoring the brow.
7. Customised aftercare.

The HD Brow experience takes around 45 mins.

A HD Brow Patch test is required:

• If you have never had a HD Brow treatment at Ora Privé Edinburgh.
• If it has been more than 6 months since your last HD Brow treatment at Ora Privé Edinburgh.
• Your medical conditions have changed in any way (inc. Covid 19 & Covid 19 vaccination) since your last HD Brow treatment at Ora Privé Edinburgh.
• You would like a HD Brow Patch Test required for any reason.
• The patch test required should be carried out 48 hours before the day of your treatment.
• The patch test must be carried out in-salon by a trained therapist.

Of course! Our HD Brow stylists will work out a regrowth programme with you in order to create the correct shape and thickness of your perfect brow. We will advise you how to use products like our amazing Lash and Brow Booster to achieve rapid results.

Usually (not always) you will be asked to undertake a regrowth programme, this is vital for ensuring the long term development and maintenance of gorgeous brows, this involves throwing away your tweezers and returning for maintenance around every 4 weeks.

This depends on many factors, our therapists will be able to guide you. The effects of just 1 HD Brows treatment will last around 3 – 4 weeks however the number of treatments will vary depending on how fast your hair grows in between visits and the overall shape that’s to be achieved.

Most people can have the HD Brows treatments, and a medical questionnaire is carried out before each treatment. The treatment cannot be carried out on anyone under 18 or pregnant.
